Week 11//Crazy Beautiful Life

Hello everyone! My life has been quite full of adventures and exciting times lately, thus my extended break between posts! School is taking over my life, but I won't be controlled by the man. I have been keeping soo busy between homework, sports, social life (hahaha who am I kidding), and everything in between. But amidst all that, there have been a few things that have been keeping me happy this time of year.

*Inauguration: Fun fact about me, in my 2+ years at BYU, I have never been to a devotional. Ever. But, for the inauguration of our new president, I decided to make an appearance. It was such a cool experience. The entire First Presidency of the Church was there, along with a plethora of other General Authorities and Auxiliary members. Braving the rain was a good choice for this special occasion.

*Good ole-American Football: This year, the BYU home opener fell on September 11. This was cool because it gave me a chance to wear not only all the BYU gear, but also everything red, white and blue (aka my favorite color combo). We had a really cool tribute and flag ceremony at the game. Tears were shed, but it's fine. 9/11 is obviously a terrible tragedy, but it is such an inspiring reminder to the resiliency of the American spirit. The spirit of brotherhood that that tragic event inspired is so cool to me.

*Our faces after they did a surprise soldier's welcome home. Are you kidding me? Of course I cried. I'm such an emotional wimp. Tears for dayzzzzz.

*A couple of weeks ago, we had a H U G E regional stake conference in the Marriott Center. There were seriously SO MANY people. Crazy. Anywho. We had the pleasure of hearing from multiple apostles, but this quote from Richard G. Scott just really stuck out to me. Such a good reminder of the importance of an eternal perspective.

*Girls night: On Thursday, I just really needed to not be doing homework, so I texted my girl Brogan and inquired about her schedule. We decided to go to Brick Oven, which is just a wonderful establishment, with supremely delicious food. Mmm good. I had the prettiest plate of chicken parm that I just had to take a picture. After eating, we went to the BYU Women's Soccer game, where we were two of the first 4,000 fans there so we got FREE t-shirts! Holla! And giant, college-kid sized Otter pops. 'Twas a wonderful night.

*Eliza and I were both wearing wild shirts, so we obviously had to take a picture. Duh.

*Cassidy and I went to Evidance this last week to see our girl Liza rocking it in the Contemporary Dance Theatre. She's so good. Also they danced to Bey, so it was a good night. Such a quality production from start to finish.

*Yesterday was the second home football game of the season against the University of Virginia Cavaliers. Huge game, because we are currently 3-0, and ranked #21, and last week UVa beat a team ranked near us. Stressful, right? BYU played a good game (to the amateur's eyes) and got the W, which brings us to 4-0. Feeling pretty good about that. Now to wait through a bye week will just be a struggle and half, but the wait for Utah State will be something worth waiting for. :)

*President Uchtdorf!

*Too inappropriate for ESPN. Too funny not to post.

Life is crazy for sure right now, but it is so worth living right now.
Till next time, BK
