#blessed...but really

Hello friends! I know I have been absolutely dismal at regularly updating this thing, but hey. Life happens. Summer happens. I think this summer has been my favorite summer yet. I just feel incredibly fortunate to be where I am right now. I am so content with pretty much every aspect of my life. I feel like I'm humble-bragging every time I talk about how good I feel. But whatever. I am all about putting goodness out and receiving goodness back. All about it.
Let's just get down to the point of this post. I need to update the world on what's been going on in this life of mine as of late. Let's start back on July 9. This day was one I had been looking forward to for approximately 3 months. This was the day I was going to San Diego to see my true love, Harry Styles, once again. Three of my favorite coworkers and I roadtripped ourselves to San Diego that day and after driving 2 hours to get 20 minutes away, we made it to Qualcomm Stadium. Now I feel no shame in admitting that I love One Direction. (They're all my age, it's FINE for me to love them!) The night was filled with screaming, laughing, dancing and envy for those close enough to stare at them up close. It was also probably the longest day of my life. We were on the road around 5 a.m. and went to bed around 1 a.m. Good times.
The next day was when I fell in love with San Diego. After consulting my new favorite person Suz on what we should do to fully enjoy our San Diego vacation, we decided to go visit Coronado Island. Let me tell you, if I had money to B U R N on a home, I'd be there in a heartbeat. The most beautiful place and every house was a freaking masterpiece that likely cost at least six figures. We spent part of the afternoon riding around on our rented surrey that we affectionately called Gerald. We then went to the beach where there was not a cloud in the sky and I have never felt more content. Then we just spent the rest of the night just relaxing and 'twas very nice indeed.
Saturday was a day I hope I remember for the rest of my days. When discussing what we wanted to do while in San Diego, the only two things on my list were to go to the beach and visit the temple. I had seen pictures of the San Diego temple, but HOLY COW IT IS MAGNIFICENT. While inside, we were able to do some work with a bunch of youth from Ensenada, Mexico, so almost everything was done in Spanish. It was probably one of the most spiritual temple experiences I have had. After the temple we went and had the best breakfast burrito and horchata of my life (s/o to Kotija and their super burritos for giving me life). And then it was beach time. We were in the Del Mar area of San Diego, and near there is the Torrey Pines State Reserve. Aka one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. We just camped ourselves on the beach for a good six hours or so and it was a dream. We ended the night with good food and good company and it was just so good.
Moral of the story, San Diego is my jam.
This last weekend was the weekend of my 21st birthday. Due to the 24th being a state holiday in Utah, figuring out plans for what to do to celebrate was difficult, so I decided to go home. I traveled with my aunt, uncle and their kids in their motorhome to Idaho, which was an adventure in itself, but how glad I was to be home! While home, I turned 21, bought a car, did a lot of shopping and ate a lot of good food. The car is probably my favorite thing that happened. I have done three years of school without a vehicle, and for the most part it's been completely doable and fine. However, as I am beginning to look for internships and later on, jobs, a car became something my parents wanted me to look into. And thus Joy the Voy came to my life. She's a 2002 Envoy and is cougar blue. I love her. On Sunday I drove her back to Provo, which was the second time I've driven on the freeway in three years, #crushedit. Life is just seriously swell right now, and as fall semester draws closer, there is a small part of me that is getting really excited for my classes, fall weather and most of all, football season. CANNOT WAIT. Anyway, here's some pictures to round out this ridiculously long post.

These tacos were insane good. Thank you Vegas for giving us what we needed to do the second half of our roadtrip.

It was casual.

Bye Coronado Beach. You're too perfect.
Bein' cute on Coronado like it's our job.
Oh Gerald.
Casual sunset on the beach from one of our San Diego nights.
Seriously? It's perfect.
Sunset watching/perfect time to take glamour shots
Hi Torrey Pines, miss you.
Oh, how blessed am I to call these two gems my sisters?
She's a beaut right? The car looks pretty good too I guess.
Forever obsessed with my backyard in the summertime. Not convinced that the garden of Eden wasn't just Idaho in the summer.

till next time, BK
