The past month was all about finals and Christmas and New Years and being home and eating too much and laughing my head off. It was grand. Well, after I was able to leave Provo and head to Idaho it was grand. I had a really hard time finding any measure of Christmas spirit this year, even up until Christmas Eve I was feeling a little bit Scrooge-y. But alas, Christmas was wonderful! My family and I spent the 24th at Lava Hot Springs and it was snowing and cold and overall just beautiful. The rest of Christmas week went by in a food-consuming, game-filled, blur. We went bowling for Hunter's 13th (!!!) birthday on the 27th, and aside from that, didn't leave our comfy house too much.
I always really love the new year, especially since coming to college. I love starting a new semester at the same time a new year is starting. It is a really good chance for me to evaluate where I'm at in life generally, and then school specifically. This semester is my first real one as a PR major, so I'm still kinda scared spitless about that, but I'm also crazy stoked about just diving in.
Because I want to hold myself accountable for becoming a better person this year, I wrote down my goals and resolutions. I love making lists almost more than anything in the world, so New Year's is always a happy time for that side of myself, but if I don't write down what I want to do, there is no chance of me doing it. So, for the entire world to see, I am posting my list, along with a bunch of pictures in order to update the blogging world as to my life as of late.
*As a ward, we were able to attend Savior of the World in Salt Lake. It was SO GOOD. I cried a lil bit, surprise surprise. :)
*This is part one of the Awkward Family photos on this post. This is Johnnie and I with our dear friend Elise. She's a gem of a being. We love her.
*In discovering my creative side, I made some handmade Christmas cards that were sent out to a few people. I like to think they turned out pretty good. :)
*We had the chance to go see the newest Hobbit film in a special pre-screening and Johnnie got third place in the trivia contest! Woo!
*Awkward family photo round 2. Love, Lize, Catsidy and BKay
*Annual manicure after finals selfie
*Meet Kitty. She is fierce.
*This one turned 13 in December. She's such an odd human, but she's MY odd human. I love her to pieces.
*Davison sisters on P O I N T.
*This picture makes me homesick as heck. BYU Basketball, Christmas tree, a mug full of Diet Coke? Literal heaven.
*Speaking of literal heaven, meet cookie butter no bakes. Thank you Trader Joes, for creating cookie butter and therefore changing my life.
*Got to see a couple of my ladies from way back when while I was home. We ate and laughed way too much, but it's so wonderful to know that even though our paths are all changing and high school becomes more and more like a distant memory, we can still get together and talk and laugh about anything under the sun. Love these two. :)
Long catch-up post? Check. :)
till next time, BKay
