Week 14//Thoughts on Life and Stuff

Hi guys! I have been slackin' on the bloggin' front, but never fear, I am back. And I am returning after hearing the best news I have yet received in my college career. This girl is officially a PR MAJOR. I found out on Wednesday, October 15, and it was so emotional. I had gotten my letter around 1 pm, but I had to stay on campus until 6! My coworkers let me leave early and I was such a hot mess. Shaking hands, flushed face, the whole enchilada. And then I opened the letter and it was all sorts of teary after that. I called my dad first and I was really worried that I was going to have to leave an unintelligible voicemail that would require him to call again and for me to burst into happy tears again.
Anywho, I have been on a sort of high ever since then. Life is hard, and school is trying its hardest to break me (cough cough accounting), but I feel like I have this whole new sense of purpose. Like everything I'm doing, for the most part, is for my future. It's a future that is real and possible and everything I have been waiting for for the last year. So I'm happy. I feel like I'm almost too happy for this time of year, with midterms happening all around me and claiming many casualties (myself included). But nonetheless, life is too short to be angry. :)
There have been a few things that are keeping this weirdly positive situation afloat, so here we go:
1) Music: I love this time of year because the good tunes just keep on coming. And it is beautiful. My go-to right now has been a plethora of female divas that are killin' the game and life in general. My top picks right now are:
-Low Ceilings: Claire Elise--homegirl from Blackfoot and is straight up killin' it on this EP. Every song is so good I can't even.
-Take Me When You Go: Betty Who--Betty is my Aussie/New York queen and every song she has put out has been an 80s pop dream. Seriously I'm in love.
-Sweet Talker: Jessie J--If you don't know who Jessie J is, I'm sorry. I'll pray for you. She's British, and amazing, and insanely talented, and one time she shaved her head completely for a cancer fundraiser. She's the coolest.
Talking Dreams: Echosmith--Alright technically this is a band with one girl and 3 boys, but the girl is the main singer. This album is AMAZING. So good and fun and just feel-good. "Bright" is my absolute favorite song right now. It's like the ultimate love song towards life.

and last but certainly not least,
1989: T-Sweezy--Honesty time, I didn't used to be the biggest Taylor Swift fan, but this album has got me obsessed. 80s pop seems to be making a comeback, and I've never been happier. Honestly, this album makes fans out of haters.
2) Tis the Season: Not Christmas time specifically, but I absolutely LOVE this time of year. Provo in October is so beautiful. I love it to pieces. And this is the time when we begin my favorite holidays. I am still not looking forward to that white stuff blanketing my world, but I am so ready for the holidays! Also I just wanna listen to Idina Menzel's new Christmas album without being judged.
3) Friends and Fam: As per usual, I am surrounded by the best people on the planet. I try to avoid thinking about where I would be without them, because it is NOT pretty. They keep me sane and keep me convinced of the watchful eye of my Heavenly Father. The people that are in my life right now are evidence of how much He loves me, because He's sharing some of His cream of the crop with little ole me. How cool is that.

Anywho, till next time, BK
